WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Oct. 22, 2008 - Ogemaw Heights claimed a North East Michigan Conference volleyball win at Whittemore-Prescott on Wednesday, but wasn't easy.
The Cardinals won the first game 26-24 before the Falcons came back to win three straight, 25-22, 26-24, 25-11 to avoid the upset.
"The girls played well the first three games," said W-P coach Helen Loomis. "But (they) fell flat in Game 4. In Game 1 the girls had a lot of great saves on the tips which definitely contributed to the win.
"Our blocking was not as good as it usually is but I felt our hitting game was much better."
Ogemaw improved to 25-6-4 (7-2 NEMC) while W-P dropped to 13-18-1 (1-8).
