Ogemaw Heights 3, at John Glenn 2

JOHN GLENN - Sep. 24, 2008 - Ogemaw Heights picked up a big road victory on Wednesday, defeating John Glenn in five games to move into a first place tie with the Bobcats at the top of the North East Michigan Conference.

The Falcons bounced back twice, particularly after a tough third game, to win 16-25, 25-18, 12-25, 25-16, 15-12.

"We fought for every point and stayed positive throughout the night," said Ogemaw coach Diane Gillette. "Our serving game was excellent.

"We knew John Glenn was going to be tough and we needed to play our game. The girls did a fantastic job on and off the court. The bench did a great job of keeping the team on track by their constant encouragement."

The Falcons were led by Emily Sheltrown with nine kills and 10 aces, Lauren Gillette with 20 assists, Alexis O'Neil with 16 digs and Jorie Lucas with three blocks.

The victory improved the Falcons to 17-4-4 overall (4-1 NEMC).  They'll try to avenge their lone NEMC defeat of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Standish-Sterling.
