MIO AuSABLE - Oct. 20, 2008 - Hale stayed within one game of front-running Posen in the North Star League chase with a 25-7, 25-13, 25-15 victory at Mio AuSable.
Hale coach Heather Chrivia said setter Laura Sidebottom had a particularly strong outing.
"We had some beautiful, consistent sets from Laura," she said, "and some strong hitting on the net by all.
"I rotated some girls in positions they were not familiar with in a game setting and they really stepped up and took to the challenge."
Leading the Eagles statisticalky were Tarra Caverly with 24-of-24 serving with eight aces, Liz Lerczak with 13 kills and Laura Sidebottom with 24 assists. Chrivia said Corinna Sidam also had a strong night with serve-receive passing that set up the offense.
The Eagles (16-7-3, 9-2 NSL) play Arenac Eastern at home on Thursday and travel to Faiview on Tuesday, Oct. 28. They celebrate Senior Night in their final home game against Hillman on Oct. 30.
