OSCODA - Aug. 26, 2008 - In both teams' first dual swim meet of the season, the Oscoda girls swam past a small Ogemaw Heights team 141-43.

Winning events for the Owls were the 200 medley relay team of Alyssa Peters, Mari Businski, Brittany Lynch and Anna Kushmaul; Alyssa Peters in the 200-free and 100-back; Michelle Look in the 200 individual medley; Mari Businski in the 50-free; Kim Kaiser in diving; Lynch in the 100-fly; Jessica Migan in the 100-free; Megan Crowder in the 500-free; Look, Migan, Elisabeth Billiel and Businski in the 200-free relay; Look in the 100-breast; and Businski, Peters, Look and Raymond in the 400-free relay.

"The girls swam really well tonight and picked it up when they needed to," said Oscoda coach Jeff Rush. "In a couple of races they were behind a little and turned it on for come-from-behind victories."

I was very pleased with how well we swam last night with the small number of girls we have.    We had some swims that surprised me.   Some excellent swims were Jaci Clark and Lisa Alley in the 100 Breaststroke, Mary Krieger in diving, Bailey Gilmore in the 100 backstroke, and Mallory Schultz and Morgan Dantzer in the 100 fly.

For the Falcons, top finishers were Mary Krieger in diving 92nd, 131.15 points), Mallory Schultz in the 100-fly (2nd, 1:23.40); and Lisa Alley in the 100-breast (2nd, 1:27.36).

The Owls (1-0) swim at Essexville Garber on Sept. 4, while the Falcons (0-1) travel to John Glenn.
