OGEMAW HEIGHTS - Sep. 27, 2008 - Ogemaw Heights hosted its Falcon Swim Invitational on Saturday, and the host squad finished fourth out of five teams, primarily due to the Falcon squad lacking the overall numbers of most of their competition.

Mt. Pleasant won the meet with 432 points, followed by Oscoda (339), Gaylord (243), Ogemaw (189) and Traverse City Central (175).

Oscoda's second-place finish was powered by six first-place finishes. Winning events for the Owls were Megan Crowder, Mari Businski, Alyssa Peters and Anna Kushmaul in the 200-medley relay (2:09.22); Businski in the 50-free (27.40) and 100-breast (1:19.03); Alyssa Peters in the 100-fly (1:06.14); Crowder in the 100-back (1:11.61); and Peters, Brittany Lynch, Crowder, and Businski in the 400-free relay (4:14.65).

The Owls' other top finishers were Brynne Raymond in the 200-free (4th, 2:18.33); Taylor Caslow in the 200-IM (8th, 3:14.28); Kim Kaiser in diving (5th, 139.90); Kushmaul in the 100-free (4th, 1:09.66); Crowder in the 500-free (6:24.32); and Raymond, Killingbeck, Elisabeth Billiel and Toni Boedecker in the 200-free relay (5th, 2:07.26).

Mary Krieger won the diving competition for Ogemaw Heights with a score of 173.25.

Other top finishers for the Falcons were the 200 medley relay team of Alesha Wood, Laurine Shields, Stephanie Brindley and Brigid Loar (11th, 2:57.27); Erna Spannagel in the 200-free (2:18.33) and 500-free (6:08.44); Shaina Krieger in the 200-individual medley (3rd, 2:50.56) and 100-breast (7th, 1:21.41); Mary Krieger in the 50-free (7th, 30.32); Lisa Alley in the 100-butterfly (6th, 1:19.52); Morgan Dantzer in the 100-free (5th, 1:10.68); Jaci Clark, Shaina Krieger, Mary Krieger, Erna Spannagel in the 200-free relay (2nd, 2:01.50); Bailey Gilmore in the 100-back (2nd, 1:24.52); and Morgan Dantzer, Erna Spannagel, Shaina Krieger, Jaci Clark  in the 400-free relay (6th, 4:37.07).
