OGEMAW HEIGHTS - Dec. 9, 2006 - Ogemaw Heights finished second at its 10-team home invitational on Saturday as Clio took home the team trophy.

The Falcons had four individual champions, four runners-up and three third-place finishers.

The Falcons finished ahead of Alpena, Beaverton, Gladwin, Houghton Lake, Kalkaska, Onaway and Tawas Area.

Individual champions were Andrew Funsch (125 pounds), Zach Jameson (145), Matt Franklin (160) and Carl Worthy (215)

Second-place finishers were Michael Lentz (130), Bruce Vermillion (135), Rob Goulette (140), and Scott Kimball (189). Taking third were Kyle Scott (112), Josh Taylor (171) and Jess Greene (285).

"The wrestling team would like to thank all of the staff, parents and student volunteers that helped over the weekend to make these tournaments run smoothly," said Falcon coach Darryl Keeton. "We could not make this work without your help and want you to know your help is greatly appreciated."

The Falcons host Oscoda, Rogers City and Alpena on Thursday, Dec. 14.
