WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Jan. 10, 2007 - Whittemore-Prescott overcame a second-game letdown on Wednesday to defeat Standish-Sterling 25-17, 19-25, 25-21, 25-9.
"Overall we played pretty good with the exception of Game 2," said W-P coach Helen Loomis. "Our serve reception was weak and we did not communicate well.
"The team served well tonight with minimal errors."
Catherine Daniels had 18 service points, 4 aces, 9 digs and 7 kills; Erica Loomis had 17 points, 21 digs, 7 aces, 2 blocks and 15 kills; Miranda Oakley had 11 points, 3 aces and 16 digs; Ashley Foco had 10 points, 3 aces and 11 digs; Stephanie Aviles had 25 assists and 9 digs; Madie O'Farrell had 4 kills and Heather Popielarz had 4 kills and 1 block.
W-P (10-2, 2-0 NEMC) is at Standish-Sterling's Invitational on Saturday, while SSC dropped to 0-2 in league play.
