Falcons 2-1-1 at Rosco tourney

ROSCOMMON - Dec. 9, 2006 - Ogemaw Heights started off its volleyball season Saturday with a third-place finish at the Roscommon Invitational, winning two and splitting one out of four matches.

"The team did a good job for the first tourney of the season," said Ogemaw coach Diane Gillette. "They played hard and fought back a couple of times from a deficit.

The Falcons defeated Benzie Central 25-15, 25-15; swept Houghton Lake 25-13, 25-13; split with Harrison 25-24, 20-25; and lost to McBain in the semifinal match 20-25, 21-25.

The Falcons were led by Jordan Foster with 15 kills, 29-of-31 serving and 44 digs; Amanda Jameson with 11 kills; Jamie Lucas with 8kills, 31-of-35 serving and 9 aces; Holly Wangler with 33 assists, 28-of-31 serving and 2 aces; Amber Schmitt with 2 blocks and Alicia Brown with 33 digs.
