OGEMAW HEIGHTS - Jan. 24, 2007 - Ogemaw Heights let a two-game lead over Tawas get away on Wednesday, but put things back together in time to take a 25-13, 25-17, 22-25, 24-26, 15-5 North East Michigan Conference volleyball victory over the Braves.

"We started out the first two matches playing good and getting the ball where it needed to be," said Ogemaw coach Diane Gillette. "In the third and fourth games we did not transition off the net and cover the floor.

"The final game we picked it up, played great and took the win."

Amber Schmitt had 13 kills, Holly Wangler had 27 assists, 15 digs and three aces; Alicia Brown had 27 digs; Jamie Lucas had 11 kills and five blocks; and Jordan Foster added eight kills.

With the victory the Falcons improved to 2-1 in NEMC matches and helped them keep pace with front-running Pinconning and Whittemore-Prescott, who face off on Jan. 31. Ogemaw's next league match the same night at John Glenn. Tawas dropped to 0-3 in league matches.
