MIO AuSABLE - Feb. 27, 2007 - Hale's volleyball team got off to a strong start at Mio on Tuesday in a snow make-up game from the previous night, but the Thunderbolts came back to take a five-game win.

The Eagles easily won the first game 25-14, but lost three of the next four 16-25, 19-25, 25-22, 12-15.

"We made too many errors on our side of the net," said Hale coach Kristi Benedict. "We started out very well ... Mio came on in the second and third games; they were covering (the floor) well and returning the ball. We lost our intensity, quit hitting and moving, and served poorly."

Hale served at just 80 percent for the game, giving up 18 points to service errors.

Leading the Eagles were Terra Kelso with 10 digs; Heather Albaugh with 23 digs; RAchel Maher with four aces, 21 assists, and 26 digs; Elizabeth Lerczak with seven kills, 29 digs and three blocks; Tarra Caverly with 10 assists, nine kills and 38 digs; Rachel Bunner with five kills and 14 digs; and Sabrina Provoast with two aces, 10 kills, 47 digs and two blocks.

Hale dropped to 10-13-1 (7-6 North Star League) while Mio improved to 9-5 NSL.
