WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Feb. 3, 2007 - Hale's volleyball squad earned a victory and a split in four matches played at the Whittemore-Prescott Invitational.
After opening with a loss to Whittemore-Prescott, the Eagles ran into highly-rated New Lothrop and were soundly beaten in two games. Hale rebounded to split its two games with Oscoda and swept Skeels Christian in two games.
"It was an interesting day," said Hale coach Kristi Benedict. "I ran a little different lineup, so the girls had to adjust to that. They got smoked by W-P, but came back to lose by just three in the second game. New Lothrop was just a good team, so we didn't do well against them."
For the day, the Eagles (6-10-1) were led by Terra Kelso with five aces and 15 digs; Heather Albaugh with 32 digs; Rachel Maher with 17 assists and 18 digs; Elizabeth Lerczak with five aces, 28 digs and three blocks; Tarra Caverly with six aces, 22 assists, 10 kills and 27 digs; Rachel Bunner with four kills and six digs; and Sabrina Provoast with three aces, seven kills, 52 digs and nine blocks.
