Hale 3, at Atlanta 2

ATLANTA - Jan. 8, 2007 - The Hale volleyball team found itself in a deep hole on Monday but came back to earn a North Star League road victory at Atlanta.

The Eagles dropped the first two games to the Huskies 24-26, 24-26 but recovered to sweep the last three, 25-18, 25-23, 15-4.

"The girls kept themselves in the game," said Hale coach Kristi Benedict. "It was a very good match -- though not so for my gray hairs.

"Atlanta wasn't hitting but did a lot of tipping. We adjusted for that and then we started hitting better, which helped us win the match."

The Eagles also pulled out the victory despite playing with just six players.

For the game, Terra Kelso had 23 digs; Rachel Maher had 3 aces, 17 assists and 23 digs; Elizabeth Lerczak had 4 kills and 31 digs; Tarra Caverly had 4 aces, 10 assists, 12 kills and 25 digs; Rachel Bunner had 4 aces and 25 digs; and Sabrina Provoast had 6 aces, 8 kills, 28 digs and 4 blocks.

Hale improved to 2-1 (1-1 NSL) while Atlanta dropped to 1-3 in league contests.
