BAY CITY CENTRAL - Dec. 21, 2006 - Ogemaw Heights took on Bay City Central in a non-conference swim meet on Thursday and came up with a 110-76 loss.
"This was a good meet for the guys," said Ogemaw coach Louise Hofer. "BCC has a smaller but very strong team. It was good competition and it is always fun to go up against swimmers who we don't see in conference meets. They give us some new faces to race against, which rejuvenates everybody."
Winning events for the Falcons were the 200-medley relay team of Alex Ecker, Nick Elliott, Conrad Laurion and Chad Maciejewski (1:53.39); Ecker in the 100-fly (1:01.62) and Conrad Laurion in the 100-free (54.60).
Other top finishers for the Falcons included Dan Spencer (3rd, 2:31.31), Maciejewski (5th, 2:39.78) and Nick Schrunk (6th, 2:49.26) in the 200-free; Brian Marshall (3rd, 2:40.69), Tanner Walker (5th, 2:49.35) and Sean McClintic (6th, 2:55.77) in the 200-IM; Laurion (2nd, 23.64), Josh Gildner (3rd, 27.66) and Jason Egan (5th, 28.51) in the 50-free; James Rohrer (4th, 121.00), Matt Brindley (5th, 102.80) and Tommy Johnson (6th, 101.70) in diving; Rohrer (5th, 1:13.98) and Walker (6th, 1:19.08) in the 100-fly; Maciejewski (2nd, 57.80) and Matt Brindley (5th, 1:08.11) in the 100-free; Ecker (2nd, 1:01.17), Gildner (4th, 1:19.53) and Schrunk (5th, 1:43.94) in the 100-back; and Elliott (3rd, 1:15.62), McClintic (4th, 1:19.53) and James Padden (6th, 1:28.03) in the 100-breast.
Relay finishers included Marshall, McClintic, Walker and Rohrer (4th, 2:11.00) and Clayton Clemens, George Farmer, Egan and Logan Gabourie (5th, 2:30.70) in the 200-medley; Laurion, Gildner, Rohrer and Maciejewski (2nd, 1:45.56), Egan, Elliott, Spencer and Marshall (3rd, 1:56.19) and Johnson, Martin Nelkie, Andrew Vollmer and Brindley (4th, 2:09.06) in the 200-free; and Walker, Spencer, Elliott and Ecker (2nd, 4:20.98), Mike Morris, Martin Nelkie, Gabourie and Padden (4th, 5:09.52) and Johnson, Casey Taylor, Reuben Nelkie and Schrunk (5th, 6:03.06) in the 400-free relay.
The Falcons resume action in 2007 at the Heritage Relays on Jan. 6.
