BAY CITY - Feb. 17, 2007 - One of Ogemaw Heights two boys bowling losses this season was against Mt. Pleasant.
The Falcons earned payback in a big way on Saturday, defeating the Oilers 29-1.
"We lost to them a few weeks back with two of our worst team games of the season," said Ogemaw coach Mike Duffy. "We wanted to make a statement this time, and we did by bowling two of our best team games of the year."
The Falcons edged Mt. Pleasant in both Baker games by three pins apiece: 206-203 and 198-195.
Ogemaw went on to set new team highs both for a game (1035) and series (2012). Kyle Turner led the way with a 245, with Josh Phillips adding 222 and Aaron Kihn a 212 in the first game.
Ryan Bragg's 255 led the Falcons in the second game, with Turner adding a 204 and Kihn 200. Turner finished with the team's high series of 449.
The Falcons (6-2) will be at Monitor Lanes in Bay City for regional competition on Friday, Feb. 23 for singles competition and Saturday for team matches. In individual competition, a six-game pin total will qualify the top 10 finishers for the individual state tournament. Saturday's competition will feature six Baker games and three team games, with the top three teams advancing to team state competition.
