BAY CITY - Jan. 20, 2007 - The Ogemaw Heights boys bowling team earned a tight 16-14 victory over Bay City All Saints, one of the top-ranked teams in Division III high school bowling.
The Falcons had to come back from a 10-0 deficit after dropping both Baker games, in which five bowlers from each team bowl two frames. All Saints took those games 183-160 and 193-178.
Ogemaw got back into the match by winning the first team game 981-885, and three of five individual matches. Greg Awrey (with a score of 216), Aaron Kihn (236) and Ryan Bragg (226) each beat their All Saints opponent head to head.
The Falcons still trailed the match 12-7 heading into the final team game, but took an 878-789 win, got individual victories from Kyle Turner (182), Kihn (186) and Bragg (211). With an advantage in total pins, the Falcons also picked up the two points that were the overall margin of victory.
Ogemaw plays at Clare on Saturday, Jan. 27 in a doubleheader against Clare and Mt. Pleasant.
