Ogemaw Heights 98, John Glenn 46, (at) W-P 18

WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Apr. 30, 2007 - Ogemaw Heights demonstrated why it will be the favorite at the NEMC girls track and field league finals meet on May 23, running past John Glenn and Whittemore-Prescott with 98 team points to 46 for the Bobcats and 18 for the Cards.

The Falcons took the top three spots in two events and went one-two in two others.

Winning events for Ogemaw were Kayla Brindley in the discus (108-11); Kristeen Soper in the high jump (4-2); Brittney Stein in the pole vault (8-6); Heather Villarreal in the 1600 (6:10.55); Maggie Edward in the 300 hurdles (53.80); and Chelsea LeForce in the 800 (2:42.63). LeForce, Holly Mester and Noelle Mester crossed the finish line together in the 3200 (13:51.25). The Falcons also won the 4x800 (12:29.20), 4x200 (2:16.43); and 4x100 (57.98) relays.

For Glenn, winners were Stephanie Hurley in the long jump (14-8), 100 (12.76), 400 (1:02.56) and 200 (26.92); and Bri Kokaly in the 100 hurdles (18.00).

Whittemore-Prescott's Catherine Daniels won the shot put (34-8) and the Cards' 4x400 relay team was also victorious (5:08.34).
