2006 Season: 4th place North East Michigan Conference
Head coach: Kevin Mielock
Top returners: Tyler Bischoff, sr., (distance, captain); Thomas Domerese, jr. (pole vault); Tyler Klenow, jr. (sprints, high jump); Wayne Enzenberger, sr., (pole vault, high jump, mid-distance); Ky Barnes, sr., (throws - capt.); Alex Revord, so. (sprints)
Outlook: The Braves have quality at the top, but with only 30 athletes, nearly half of which are first-year participants, there are plenty of questions.
"We are very young," says Tawas coach Kevin Mielock. "We are still trying to find the right events for a lot of the team. We have some all-conference caliber athletes, but we need to develop some depth in order to be successful in the duals and tri-meets."
Senior Tyler Bischoff has been an all-conference distance performer as a freshman in the distance events, finishing third in the 1600 and fourth in the 3200 last year. Junior Thomas Domerese won the NEMC pole vault title and was a state qualifier last season.
Wayne Enzenberger is a strong all-around performer who gives the Braves points in several areas, including the pole vault, high jump and middle distance runs. Senior Ky Barnes (throws), junior Tyler Klenow (sprints and high jump) and sophomore Alex Revord (sprints) are other key returners.
Others Mielock will be looking to for contributions include Hunter Kirk, Jordan Smith, Jacob Winn, and first-year soph Jeff Janis. |
