STANDISH-STERLING - May 20, 2007 - While area teams didn't rank highly in terms of overall scoring at Saturday's Division 3 Region 27 meet at Standish-Sterling, a good number of athletes either qualified for the June 2 state finals or earned regional medals.
Host SSC finished sixth to lead the team scoring with 41 points. Frankenmuth won the team regional title with 137 points, followed by Freeland with 90 and Saginaw Nouvel Catholic with 71. NEMC schools Tawas Area (24.5) took 11th, Oscoda (16) took 13th and Whittemore-Prescott (11) finished 15th.
