Standish-Sterling 21-19, at Oscoda 0-1

OSCODA - Apr. 30, 2007 - Standish-Sterling scored 40 runs at Oscoda on Monday on the way to earning an NEMC softball sweep over the Owls.

SSC won the opener 21-0 in three innings as Barbara Filipeck allowed just two hits and struck out four. Tiffany Belanger had two hits, including a triple, and four RBIs; Alyssa Bonnau tripled, singled twice and drove in three runs; Olivia Picard had a home run and three RBIs; Filipeck had two hits, including a double, and drove in three runs; and Lindsay Nelson drove in two runs with one hit.

Filipeck also was the winning pitcher in the five-inning second game, allowing four hits and one run while striking out four.

Kayla Hilyard had five hits, scored four times and drove in six runs to pace the Panther offense. Filipeck added two hits and three RBIs; Allie Ouillette had two singles and drove in two runs; Terra Hartley had four hits and scored twice; and Bonnau had two singles, a double, a triple, scored four runs and drove in two more.

SSC improved to 8-8 (3-5 NEMC) while Oscoda is 0-10 (0-6)
