BAY CITY CENTRAL - Ogemaw Heights' softball team finished up its regular season Tuesday with a 9-8, 8-1 sweep at Bay City Central
In the opener, the Falcons took an 8-4 lead but saw Central tie it with one run in the fifth inning and three in the seventh to force extra innings.
But in the eighth, Lisa Bennett reached base on an error and came around to score later in the inning as the Wolves committed two more errors.
Jamie Lucas, who pitched the last three innings in relief of Kate Dombrowski, retired the side in the bottom of the eighth to earn the win. Lucas allowed three hits and three unearned runs in her three innings of work, while Dombrowski allowed four hits and four earned runs in her five innings.
Lucas also had two hits and two RBIs offensively, with Theresa Wymer adding two hits and Kayla Lehman had a two-run double in the Falcons five-run fifth inning.
In the second game, Colleen Wren pitched a complete-game three-hitter, allowing one walk and striking out four, as the Falcons used a 6-run third inning to build a big lead. Kelly Rosebrugh's bases-loaded triple provided the big hit, while Lucas again had two hits and Jordan Foster scored two runs for the Falcons, who wrap up the regular season with a 16-16 mark.
