KALKASKA - May 18, 2007 - Ogemaw Heights' softball team played its second doubleheader in two days and even had play extra innings to boot.

The Falcons fell 1-0 in the opener at Kalkaska but bounced back to take the nightcap 2-1.

"Kalkaska was very tough defensively," said Falcon coach Chuck Wren. "Jamie (Lucas) pitched well; we went to the international tiebreaker in the eighth inning (where the inning starts with a runner on second base), both the runner to third and couldn't score."

Lucas took the loss despite allowing just four hits and two walks in eight innings. The game's lone run was unearned and she struck out three. Michelle Berdan, Lauren Gillette and Kelly Rosebrugh had the Falcons' three hits.

In the second game, the Falcons got just enough offense with Berdan's sixth-inning leadoff triple, Gillette's RBI single and a Jordan Foster sacrifice that drove in what proved to be the winning run.

Colleen Wren earned the win, allowing four hits and one unearned run in the sixth inning, walking one and striking out five.
