JOHN GLENN - May 10, 2007 - Ogemaw Heights got back on the winning track at John Glenn on Thursday, earning a 6-4 and 5-2 sweep of the Bobcats in a North East Michigan Conference softball doubleheader.

The Falcons needed eight innings to win the first game, scoring four runs in the top of the extra frame and holding on after committing a two-run error in the bottom of the eighth.

The Falcons managed just four hits in the first seven innings, but matched that in the eighth. Jenna Zettel led off with a walk, and after Michelle Berdan sacrificed her to second, Kayla Lehman followed with an RBI single to give Ogemaw the lead. Lauren Gillette singled, Tiffani Rouse drove in a run with another hit, and after Kelly Rosebrugh reached bas on an error, Colleen Wren's two-run single provided what turned out to be much-needed insurance.

Glenn scored two runs on a throwing error with one out in the eighth, but pitcher Jamie Lucas forced a groundout and strikeout to end the game.

Lucas allowed one earned run on six hits and five walks while striking out five. Rouse had three hits, Wren had two hits and two RBIs and Zettel had a double to pace the offense.

In the second game, Lucas' two-run triple broke the ice in the third, and Zettel's sacrifice fly brought her home with for a 3-0 lead. The Falcons added single runs in the fourth and seventh, and again held on as Glenn scored twice in the seventh, this time without benefit of a Falcon error.

Wren earned the win while giving up four hits and five walks, striking out seven. Lucas finished with two hits while Rosebrugh, Wren and Berdan each had one.

The Falcons improved to 9-7 (5-3 NEMC) while Glenn dropped to 5-13 (1-9).
