PINCONNING - May 9, 2007 - Pinconning continued to find a way to win on Tuesday, while Oscoda's season-long run of tough losses continued.

The Spartans took advantage of an obstruction call with two minutes in overtime, quickly set up before the Owls' defense could set and Andrea Wackerle scored the winning goal over the top to take a 2-1 victory. Pinny's winning score came after the Owls couldn't find the mark on a flurry of shots at the Spartans' end of the field.

The Owls controlled much of the first half, finally picking up their first goal with 15 seconds left in the half as Rushelle Sidebottom scored off Kayla Young's first assist of the year. It was the Owls' 14th shot of the first half.

The Owls' lead didn't last long. Wackerle came out in the second half and knotted the score at 1-1.

Jolene Julian had 10 saves for the Spartans, who improved to 6-3 (5-2 NEMC). The Owls fell to 0-8 (0-6).
