OSCODA - Apr. 25, 2007 - Pinconning's girls soccer team followed up its landmark victory over Tawas Area with another victory on Wednesday, 4-2 at Oscoda.

The teams played to 1-1 halftime tie, with Pinny's April Maciag and Oscoda's Tricia McDonald exchanging goals.

The Owls controlled much of the action in the first half, but Pinny took control after halftime. Four minutes into the second half, the Spartans' Kellie Donajkowski broke the tie for good. Andrea Wackerle scored off a direct kick and Maciag added her second goal for a 4-1 lead.

Oscoda cut it to 4-2 when Kayla Young scored off the hip of a Pinny defender.

Carissa Schmidt had an assist for the Spartans, and Jolene Julian had 16 saves.

Aubrey Thurston had two assists for the Owls, who outshot the Spartans 20-10.

Pinny improved to 4-2 (3-1 NEMC) while Oscoda fell to 0-4 (0-3).
