OSCODA - May 16, 2007 - Ogemaw Heights didn't let up after Monday's win over Tawas Area, blanking Oscoda 3-0 at home on Wednesday.

"We put some shots up, but their keeper (Ashley Crawford) made some big saves," said Ogemaw Heights coach Jeff Young. "I thought we controlled the tempo well, but we had trouble finding the back of the net."

Alicia Brown's goal in the ninth minute opened the scoring and held until halftime. Kristi Killackey had an assist on the score.

In the second half, Micayla Morris and Kristi Killackey each scored in the final 15 minutes to secure the victory.

The Falcons outshot the Owls 29-10, with a 19-8 edge in shots on goal. Oscoda goalkeeper Ashley Crawford made 15 saves.

"There was nothing shabby about the shots Oscoda got," Young said. "They just didn't get in there very often. They're a very improved team, even though their record doesn't show it. Last year they were getting beaten by six or seven goals every time out and this year they've had a lot of close games. They're closing the gap and it's showing on the scoreboard."

The Falcons (5-5-3, 5-3 NEMC) and Owls (1-10, 0-8) rematch at Ogemaw on Thursday.
