ROGERS CITY - Apr. 28, 2007 - Oscoda put in a solid day's work at Saturday's Rogers City tournament, splitting with the host Hurons and Posen in their two games.
The Owls gave up seven runs in the first inning of a 12-4 loss to Rogers City but came back to defeat Posen 9-2.
"We were competitive except for the first inning of the first game," said Oscoda coach Bob Skodack.
Torib Uchel pitched six solid innings in relief of Barak Henderson in the opener, allowing four earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out two. Jason Jimenez had three hits, Michael Wimmer had two hits and Don Crevier had a two-run double for the Owls.
In the second game, Dustin Crevier allowed one earned run on five hits in as the Owls scored three runs in each of the first two innings to take control of their contest with Posen.
Jimenez had a triple and three RBIs, Mike Lamrock had two hits and Alan Poland had a double and single.
The Owls (2-6) host Standish-Sterling on Monday.
