GLADWIN - Apr. 23, 2007 - Oscoda's baseball team earned its first win of the season Monday, getting a no-hitter from Jason Jimenez in a 6-0 victory over Gladwin. The Flying G's came back to edge the Owls 5-4 in eight innings in the second game.
Jimenez walked one and struck out nine in his first-game gem. The Owls scored two runs int he first and built on their lead throughout the game.
Don Crevier and Michael Wimmer each had two hits, with Crevier belting a double. Jimenez also had a triple.
The Owls trailed 4-2 midway through the second game, but scored single runs in the fourth and sixth innings to tie it. Gladwin scored in the eighth for the win.
Torib Uchel pitched a complete game in the loss, allowing six hits and three walks while striking out eight. Two of the five runs he allowed were earned.
Michael Wimmer had two hits for Oscoda (1-5).
