AuGres-Sims 9-8, at Arenac Eastern 8-4

ARENAC EASTERN - May 17, 2007 - AuGres-Sims wrapped up its NSL slate Thursday with a 9-0, 8-4 sweep of Arenac Eastern.

Sophomore Kyle Gingerich threw a shutout in the opener, scattering five hits and striking out eight to earn the win.

The Wolverines scored five runs in the third and added one in the fifth and two in the sixth.

Robert Towery drove in three runs with a double and a single and scored three runs, while Travis Lee belted a home run and had a single with two runs and two RBIs. Shane Lynch added a single, double and two RBIs for AGS.

Nick Phelan led the Eagles with two hits. Brian Langstaff started and took the loss.

Lee pitched a complete game in the second contest, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out 12. Clark Larson had two singles and scored twice, Ray Lake had three hits, Isaiah Kauffman added three hits and three RBIs and Brandon Kelly had two hits and two steals.

Kyle White started on the mound for the Eagles and Ethan Klopf had a triple and an RBI.

The Wolverines finished 10-3-1 in NSL play and must wait to see how Posen finishes out its league slate to see if that will be good enough for the league's runner-up spot.

AE fell to 7-7 (2-6 NSL).
