AuGRES-SIMS - May 3, 2007 - AuGres-Sims rolled to a pair of 10-run, five-inning victories over Hale on Thursday, defeating the Eagles 11-1 in the opener and 12-2 in the second game.
Travis Lee threw a no-hitter in the first game, allowing an unearned run in the fifth inning. The Wolverines scored eight runs in the second game, highlighted by Tim McGuire's two-run double and triple and RBI singles from Clark Larson, Ray Lake, Isaiah Kauffman and Art Griffore. McGuire finished with three hits and two RBIs, while Lee had a home run and two more hits and Isaiah Kauffman had two hits.
Tanner Shellenbarger took the loss for Hale.
The Wolverines got another eight-run inning in the second game, this time in the fifth to break open what had been a 4-2 ball game.
Kyle Gingerich held Hale to two runs on five hits while striking out eight. Kauffman had four hits, including a double and triple, scored twice and drove in two runs; McGuire had a pair of doubles and two RBIs; Shane Lynch had three hits and scored three runs; and Lake, Larson and Griffore each had two hits. Alex Lutz also drove in two runs.
AGS improved to 6-4-1 (4-1-1 NSL) while Hale fell to 0-4 in league contests.
