WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Oct. 24, 2007 - John Glenn earned a 25-15, 25-16, 25-21 sweep of Whittemore-Prescott on Wednesday to stay tied with Pinconning for second place in the North East Michigan Conference, two games behind league-leading Ogemaw Heights heading into Monday's league round-robin tournament.
W-P coach Helen Loomis said the Cardinals played well at times, but lacked the consistency to stay with the Bobcats.
"Glenn served well and we had a hard time with the mix of fast deep serves and soft short ones," she said. "On the plus side, our serving was consistent tonight with only two errors."
Leading the Cards were Leighanna Loomis with 10 points and three aces; Annie Thompson with 10 assists; Larissa McGeathy with six spike kills and Willow McLaren with five digs.
The Cards (7-24-3, 0-6 NEMC) host Monday's all-day league-finals round-robin.
W-P Stats: Leighanna Loomis 10 points, 3 assists, 5 digs, 4 spike kills; Annie Thompson 9 points, 10 assists; Kayla Camp 5 assists; Willow McLaren 5 digs; Larissa McGeathy 6 spike kills, 1 block; Katie Eymer 1 block.
