TAWAS AREA - Oct. 3, 2007 - Whittemore-Prescott's volleyball team turned in one of its best performances of the season Wednesday, pushing Tawas Area to five games before the Braves pulled out the win.
Tawas ended up taking it 25-15, 15-25, 25-13, 17-25, 15-8.
"Despite the loss I was much happier with our play tonight," said W-P coach Helen Loomis. "(Katie) Eymer and (Chelsea) Jasman played well at the net and our serving was more consistent.
"(Corinne) Crawford and (Chloe) Moraitis had some great digs while our overall defense is improving."
Leading the Cards were Crawford with four aces and 14 digs; Annie Thompson with 12 assists; Jasman with five block kills; and Moraitis with 10 spike kills. W-P (3-18-2, 0-3 NEMC) plays Houghton Lake on Oct. 8.
