PINCONNING - Oct. 24, 2007 - Pinconning's volleyball team has certainly given its fans their money's worth in its home matches this season.
For the third time in four home NEMC contests, the Spartans went to five games, this time defeating Tawas Area 25-17, 18-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-13.
"It was an exciting one," said Pinny coach Annie Diener.
The Spartans were led by Chelsea Gruszynski with 31 assists, Sarah Schumacher with 15 kills, Lauren Lahar with 11 digs and Lori LaFave and Samantha Bellhorn with five aces apiece.
The Spartans (14-31-1, 4-2 NEMC) kept their league title hopes alive with the win as they need to sweep all six NEMC foes in Monday's round robin and hope that another team is able to knock off Ogemaw Heights, which holds a two-game lead atop the league.
Tawas fell to 2-4 in NEMC matches.
