ST. LOUIS - Oct. 20, 2007 - Pinconning traveled to the St. Louis Invitational on Saturday, winning a thriller over the host Sharks but dropping their other three matches.

The Spartans fell to Alma 25-14, 25-9, but won a marathon battle with St. Louis 25-23, 33-31. Pinny closed out with a 13-25, 25-21, 7-15 loss to Williamston and a 21-25, 25-19, 7-15 defeat to Owosso.

Leading the Spartans (13-26-1) were Lori LaFave with eight aces, 21 kills and 40 digs; Sarah Schumacher with seven aces and 18 kills; Chelsea Gruszynski with 56 assists; Samantha Bellhorn with 19 kills; and Lauren Lahar with 53 digs.

Pinny travels to Frankenmuth on Monday and to Tawas Area on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
