OSCODA - Sept. 22, 2007 - The Oscoda volleyball team took third place at its home tournament on Saturday, running up a 4-1-1 record.
The Owls defeated Alcona 25-16, 25-17; swept Whittemore-Prescott 25-12, 25-16; topped AuGres-Sims 25-9, 25-9; beat Hale 25-13, 25-19; lost to Standish-Sterling 19-25, 19-25 and split with tourney champion Ogemaw Heights 21-25, 25-16.
"We had a good day," said Oscoda coach Laura Franklin. "We passed the ball well and attacked well. We just need to focus on our serves more."
The Owls improved to 6-4-1 overall and travel to John Glenn on Wednesday for a North East Michigan Conference match.
