WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Sept. 26, 2007 - Ogemaw Heights stayed unbeaten in North East Michigan Conference play and ran its unbeaten string to 15 on Wednesday with a 25-14, 25-9, 25-16 sweep of Whittemore-Prescott.

"The team did a great job on defense covering the floor and setting up the attack," said Ogemaw coach Diane Gillette. "We know for our conference we can't take anyone for granted and need to play hard and tough in every game. That is what we did tonight."

For the Cardinals, improved net play didn't translate into a victory.

"We have some moments of great play but can't seem to find the consistency," said W-P coach Helen Loomis. "Our blockers had a good game tonight and our defense is starting to improve.

"Offensively we still need a lot of work -- serving and hitting errors were too numerous."

Meaghan Tackebury had 14 kills, Jordan Foster had 14 digs and Lauren Gillette 19 assists to lead the Falcons.

Kayla Camp had five service points, Katie Eymer five block kills, Leighanna Loomis 11 digs and Chloe Moraitis three spike kills to lead the Cards.
