TAWAS AREA - Sept. 5, 2007 - Ogemaw Heights got a preview of three of its North East Michigan Conference foes on Wednesday, turning in a strong outing in defeating all three.

The Falcons topped Whittemore-Prescott 25-15, 25-22; Tawas Area 25-14, 25-22; and Oscoda 25-20, 25-23.

The matches counted as non-league contests and do not count toward the Falcons' NEMC record, but earning wins against three league foes gives the Falcons some momentum heading into the league schedule beginning Sept. 12 at Tawas.

"The team did a good job both offensively and defensively," said Falcon coach Diane Gillette. "We kept moving and tried to get a hand on every ball."

Leading the Falcons (7-8 overall) were Meaghan Tackebury with 21 kills, Lauren Gillette with 36 assists and seven aces; Jacie Lucas with 25 digs and six aces; Selina Tabayoyong with 25 digs and Jordan Foster with 14 kills and 18 digs.
