FAIRVIEW - Oct. 23, 2007 - Hale's volleyball team set up Thursday's showdown for first place in the North Star League by sweeping Fairview on Tuesday 25-12, 25-19, 25-16.
The Eagles (11-2) need to beat Hillman (12-1) in the final league game of the season to tie the Tigers for the league title.
Against Fairview, the Eagles earned the sweep despite not quite being at the top of their game.
"Our serving was off last night, along with our passing," said Hale coach Mandy Allen. But no matter how we are playing, these girls manage to pull out the win. The way they play as a team is amazing."
Rachel Maher led the Eagles with 21 assists with 100 percent serving, five aces and three digs. Tarra Caverly added 10 blocks, nine digs, two blocks and four aces and Terra Kelso had eight kills, nine digs and a block.
