POSEN - Oct., 4, 2007 - Hale's volleyball team bounced back from its first North Star League loss of the year, earning a three-game sweep over Posen on the road Thursday, 25-18, 25-22, 25-19.

"Posen played good defense," said Hale coach Mandy Allen. "I think they've really improved since the last time we played them. I was impressed with them."

The Eagles. who got two injured players back to the active roster but lost another, improved to 7-1 in league play to keep pace with Hillman despite having just seven players in the program.

"These girls have really stepped it up a notch," Allen said. "They have been working hard in practice and are definitely reaping the rewards. I'm really proud of them."

Tarra Caverly had one of her best games of the season with 13 kills, one block and seven digs.

"Tarra was on fire," Allen said. "Her hitting was amazing."

Kassie Johnson, in her first game back from an injury, anchored the back row with 13 digs and had 13 kills. Rachel Maher had 28 assists and six aces; Liz Lerczak had 10 kills and seven digs; Terra Kelso added eight kills, two blocks, eight digs and two aces; Kelsey Reilly had 12 digs and Stacey Eno had one kill.

"Each player on my team deserves credit for coming out and playing with everything they have," Allen said. I appreciate these seven players and give them so much credit."

Hale hosts AuGres-Sims on Oct. 9.
