MIO AuSABLE - Sept. 13, 2007 - There might not be many Hale girls playing volleyball this season, but the ones that are have made quite an impression on the North Star League.

The Eagles, with only eight players and no JV team behind them, moved to 4-0 in league play Thursday with a 25-23, 25-23, 25-20 sweep of Mio. Hale is the last remaining unbeaten team in league play.

"Mio had a great group of girls," said Hale coach Mandy Allen. "They were digging up everything we hit at them. They set up almost every ball and were good team players."

Leading the Eagles were Liz Lerczak with eight kills, Tarra Caverly with 13 digs, Rachel Bunner with three aces and Rachel Maher in assists.

The Eagles (5-3 overall) next play at home against Arenac Eastern on Thursday, Sept. 20.
