SAGINAW HERITAGE - Jan. 7, 2006 - As if they Ogemaw Heights wrestling team hadn't provided enough evidence with Thursday's dual meet victory over Whittemore-Prescott, Saturday's performance at the 16-team Saginaw Heritage Invitational proved that the Falcons' high hopes for the season are more than justified.

Ogemaw took a second-place finish, behind only Hartland, which was ranked as the top team in the state both in Division 1 and all classes in a late-December Michigan Wrestling Association poll.

Individually, Joe Evans earned a first-place finish at 215 pounds, with Andrew Funsch (112) taking second place in his weight class.

Other medal-winners included Rob goulette (125, 3rd place), Zach Jameson (130, 3rd), Bruce Vermillion (135, 3rd), Matt Franklin (152, 4th); Carl Worthy (171, 4th); Ashley Hebert (119, 5th); Kyle Scott (103, 5th), Josh Taylor (145, 6th) and Corey Lambert (160, 6th).
