"Our 8 a.m. games were pretty weak," said W-P coach Helen Loomis. "(We were) not awake. We played well against Oscoda (but) just not consistent enough throughout the day."
Leading the Cards were Catherine Daniels with 38 points, 13 aces, 23 spike kills and six block kills; Erica Loomis with 44 spike kills, five acesand 23 digs; Stephanie Aviles with 45 assists and 21 digs; Erin Grezeszak with 19 points, seven aces and 12 spike kills; and Kristie Degesie with 22 digs.
"We need to remain patient, keep working hard and hopefully continue to improve," Loomis said. "We did have many awesome serves and spike kills. Our defenses need improvement the most."
