WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Feb. 22, 2006 - Whittemore-Prescott's volleyball team got back on the winning track Wednesday with a 25-14, 21-25, 25-16, 25-17 defeat of Lincoln-Alcona.
The Cards played a solid contest despite missing several days of practice due to the ice storm.
"Overall our play looked pretty good considering we haven't played in a week and have had few practices," said W-P coach Helen Loomis. "In the second game we lost our focus and did not play very well defensively.
"In games three and four they picked it up and got the victory."
Erica Loomis led the Cards with 16 points, seven aces, 24 spike kills and 14 digs. Stephanie Aviles added 25 assists, Madie O'Farrell had 5 aces, Catherine Daniels had eight digs and two blocks, and Ashley Foco, Aviles and Kristie Degesie each had eight digs.
The Cards improved to 21-14-3.
