WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Jan. 18, 2006 - Whittemore-Prescott played two solid games against John Glenn on Wednesday, but defensive struggles in two other games proved costly as W-P dropped its first NEMC contest of the season Wednesday, 25-19, 15-25, 22-25, 15-25.
"The girls played well in games one and three but fell apart defensively in the other two games," said W-P coach Helen Loomis. "John Glenn played excellent defense and did a god job of playing their tips on offense.
"Despite the loss, I was pleased we were able to give them two good games."
The Cards were led by Madie O'Farrell with 10 points and three aces; Catherine Daniels with nine points, two aces, seven assists, two blocks and seven kills; and Erica Loomis with seven points, three aces, 15 assists, 14 digs and 14 kills.
The Cards (11-7-2, 2-1 NEMC) play Saturday at the Standish-Sterling Invitational. John Glenn improved to 8-3-2 (2-0).
