WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Jan 16, 2006 - Whittemore-Prescott won a pair of nonconference volleyball matches Monday, topping Houghton Lake 25-13, 19-25, 25-20, 17-25, 15-10 and sweeping Grayling 25-18, 25-10, 25-18.
"Our play against Houghton Lake was sporadic," said W-P coach Helen Loomis. "We had some lapses both defensively and offensively, but managed many periods of great play to get the win.
"The match against Grayling went better, with more consistent play."
Leading the Cards (11-6-2) were Erin Grezeszak with 34 points, seven aces and 21 digs; Catherine Daniels with 31 points, 10 aces, three blocks and 19 kills; Stephanie Aviles with 38 assists and, 23 digs, and Erica Loomis with 32 kills, 20 digs and six aces.
