OSCODA - Dec. 12, 2005 - Oscoda's volleyball team earned its first victory of the year Monday, winning one of three matches at a home quad.
The Owls defeated Tawas Area 25-23, 25-21 while losing to Ogemaw Heights 26-28, 17-25 and Whittemore-Prescott 12-25, 18-25.
Oscoda was led by Deanna Boughner, who finished with the night with 14 kills, four aces, three blocks and seven digs; Jill Sanderson with a perfect 25-of-25 serving with two aces and 12 assists; and Margaret Negro with six kills and 12 blocks.
Emily Schwedler added four assists, Kori Copus had four blocks and five digs; Katie Kapus had 14-of-17 serving with two aces; and Chelsie Sisk added five digs.
The Owls host their own invitational on Saturday, Dec. 17.,
