JOHN GLENN - Feb. 8, 2006 - Oscoda traveled to Bay City John Glenn on Wednesday and dropped a 20-25, 13-25, 20-25 North East Michigan Conference volleyball match to the Bobcats.
Inconsistent play continued to be the Owls' undoing, as they started the first game strong before things went awry.
"We started the first game ... playing well and playing aggressively," said Oscoda cocach Linda Hennigar. "As in the past we self-destructed around 19 points and lost the game 20-25.
"We never got into the second game - the Bobcats took the lead and we never got close."
The third game, Hennigar said, was nearly a carbon copy of the first game.
"We played pretty well, we were doing a good job of attacking the ball," she said. "But when things started to go wrong we no longer played aggressively and went into tip mode."
Margaret Negro had two blocks and two aces, Juill Sanderson had eight assists, 11 service points and five digs; Kori Copus had nine digs; and Deanna Boughner had five kills, three blocks and 13-of-14 serving for the Owls, who dropped to 0-5 in NEMC play.
