HALE - Jan. 23, 2006 - Hale's volleyball team took unbeaten Hillman to five games on Monday, but eventually lost to the league co-leaders 21-25, 25-21, 25-18, 21-25, 11-15.
The Eagles were hurt by an 85 percent serving efficiency, which amounted to giving Hillman 15 points in what was a close match throughout.
""With rally scoring in close games, you can't give your opponent 15 points," said Hale coach Kristi Benedict. "Hillman is a good team and it was a fun match to watch. They were very good at reading the open spots on our side and we just didn't get them covered."
Shannon Self led the Eagles with six aces, 13 kills, six assist and 17 digs. Amanda DeShano had 32 digs, Heather Albaugh added 22 digs, Chelsea Sidebottom ad four aces and 19 digs, Andrea Herzog had five kills and 17 digs, Jessica Beasinger had 17 digs, Nicole Allen had 12 digs, and Sabrina Provoast had 11 aces, 16 assists, and 16 kills.
