AuGRES-SIMS - Feb. 22, 2006 - AuGres-Sims set up its showdown for first place in the North Star League by sweeping Mio AuSable on Wednesday in a weather makeup game, 25-9, 25-21, 25-15.
"(We) played to win, not to 'not lose,'" said AGS senior Angela Porn, who had seven attacks, five digs, and two aces on 22-of-24 serving."We were pumped throughout the whole game, enthused and energetic. We owe a lot to the crowd for keeping our spirits high.
"We came out playing our game, and that's what led us to victory."
Jodi Bilacic had seven attacks, 12-of-12 serving and three aces, Jamie Taylor had 13 assits, Charisse Morris was 11-of-11 serving with 10 points, and Toria Pendred had nine digs for the Wolverines.
The Wolverines, winners of 18 straight matches, are 19-4-2 overall (11-0 North Star League) and will try to maintain hold of sole possession of the league's top spot when they travel to Hillman on Thursday.
