AuGRES-SIMS - Jan. 5, 2006 - AuGres-Sims earned its first North Star League win of the season Thursday as the Wolverines swept Hale 25-17, 25-14, 25-18.

Hale led early in the first game, but the Wolverines' comeback set the tone for the rest of the match.

"I was very pleased to see the girls pull this one out," said AGS coach Jeri Christie. "Their teamwork was amazing. Their communication got better as the night went on. It was a nice win in front of a nice crowd."

The Wolverines (2-4-2 overall, 1-0 NSL) were led by Sam Baron with six attacks; Angela Porn with five attacks, 21-of-24 serving with 11 aces for 20 service points; Jamie Taylor with 17 assists; Jodi Bilacic with 9-of-11 serving, three aces and seven service points.

It was just a bad night all the way around," said Hale coach Kristi Benedict. The Eagles served just 67 percent, with eight aces, 10 kills and only three digs as a team.

Hale dropped to 1-1 (0-1 NSL).
