ARENAC EASTERN - Jan. 23, 2006 - Arenac Eastern's volleyball team gave Atlanta all it could handle Monday before falling 27-25, 21-25, 21-25, 25-27.
The Eagles bounced back from an 11-2 deficit to win the first game 27-25 behind the serving of Kelly Ladach, who finished the match with five aces.
"They (Atlanta) took the match, (but) they had to work for it," said AE coach Hannah Neil. "When Kelly began to serve, she caught us up and the team came alive.
"The games were exciting, and each team worked hard for their points."
For the Eagles, Lindsay Nelson had four blocks, four tips and nine assists, Nicole Daniels had three aces, two blocks, 22 tips, 34 assists and five kills, Julia Altevers had two aces, eight blocks and 12 assists, Sarah Harnden had 10 assists, Nicole Marsh had 13 assists, and Heather Vollmer had 16 assists.
